Vampire Weekend is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 2006 by Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio. Known for blending indie pop, Afropop, and chamber music, the band gained widespread attention with their debut album in 2008, highlighted by singles like A-Punk and Oxford Comma. Their albums Contra, Modern Vampires of the City, and Father of the Bride each received critical acclaim, topped US charts, and won Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album. Though Batmanglij left as a full-time member in 2016, he continues to collaborate with the group. Vampire Weekend released their fifth album, Only God Was Above Us, in 2024 to further critical praise.
