Sweet is a British glam rock band that became famous in the 1970s, best known for their energetic style and memorable hits. Formed in London in 1968 as the Sweetshop, their classic lineup featured Brian Connolly on vocals, Steve Priest on bass, Andy Scott on guitar, and Mick Tucker on drums. Working with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, Sweet evolved from catchy pop tunes like "Funny, Funny" to hard rock anthems such as "Block Buster!" and "The Ballroom Blitz." They scored multiple chart successes in the UK and internationally with songs like "Fox on the Run" and "Love Is Like Oxygen," and became especially popular in Europe and the United States. After their last major hit in 1978, the original group went through lineup changes and eventually disbanded in 1981. Over the years, different members led their own versions of the band. Andy Scott now keeps the Sweet legacy alive, and the band has sold over 35 million albums worldwide.
