Stone Sour was an American rock band from Des Moines, Iowa, formed in 1992. After an initial run of five years and a brief disbandment, the band reunited in 2000 and became known for their powerful blend of hard rock and alternative metal. The lineup from 2015 included Corey Taylor on vocals and guitar, Josh Rand and Christian Martucci on guitar, Johny Chow on bass, and Roy Mayorga on drums. Notable former members include Jim Root, Joel Ekman, and Shawn Economaki.
The band released six studio albums, beginning with their self-titled debut in 2002 and including highlights like Come What(ever) May and Hydrograd, which introduced Martucci and Chow. Stone Sour earned three Grammy nominations for their singles Get Inside, Inhale, and 30/30-150. Known for their dynamic sound and emotional intensity, Stone Sour has sold over two million albums in the United States. The band has been on indefinite hiatus since 2020.
