Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish-Scottish rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland. The band is led by Gary Lightbody, the only remaining founding member, with Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid completing the current lineup. Originally called Polarbear, they changed their name to Snow Patrol in 1997 and released their early albums on Jeepster Records. After modest beginnings, they achieved mainstream success with their major label debut, Final Straw, in 2003, featuring the hit single Run. The follow-up album, Eyes Open, included the global hit Chasing Cars and became the best-selling British album of 2006. Over their career, Snow Patrol have released eight studio albums, including The Forest Is the Path in 2024, and have sold over ten million albums worldwide. They have won seven Meteor Ireland Music Awards and have received multiple Brit and Grammy nominations.
