Slim Harpo, born Isiah Moore or James Isaac Moore, was an American blues musician renowned for his role in shaping the swamp blues genre. Active mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, he was both a skilled guitarist and an influential harmonica player. Among his best-known songs are "I'm a King Bee," "Rainin' in My Heart," and "Baby Scratch My Back," the latter becoming a chart-topping R and B hit. Slim Harpo remains recognized as one of the most commercially successful blues artists of his era.
