Sepultura
Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. Known for their powerful blend of groove metal, thrash metal, and death metal, the band later incorporated influences from alternative metal, world music, nu metal, progressive rock, hardcore punk, and industrial metal. Widely recognized as a leading force of the second wave of thrash metal in the late 1980s and 1990s, Sepultura gained international acclaim with albums such as Beneath the Remains, Arise, Chaos AD, and Roots. Over their 40-year career, they have released fifteen studio albums and sold nearly 20 million records worldwide, earning gold and platinum certifications in multiple countries. After several lineup changes, the band now features Paulo Jr, Andreas Kisser, Derrick Green, and Greyson Nekrutman. In March 2024, Sepultura announced a farewell tour, marking the end of a groundbreaking chapter in metal history.
