Body Count is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1990 by rapper Ice-T and guitarist Ernie C. Initially gaining attention for their fusion of hip hop and metal, the group’s 1992 debut became controversial due to the song "Cop Killer." Despite lineup changes and the loss of original members D-Roc, Beatmaster V, and Mooseman, Body Count has remained active, releasing multiple albums and keeping a strong presence in the metal scene. The current lineup includes Ice-T, Ernie C, Juan Garcia, Vincent Price, Will Dorsey Jr., Sean E Sean, and Little Ice. In 2021, Body Count won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance with their song "Bum Rush" from the album Carnivore.
