David Coverdale is an English singer and songwriter best known as the founder and lead vocalist of Whitesnake. He rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead singer of Deep Purple before launching Whitesnake in 1978. With Whitesnake, he achieved global success, especially with the 1987 album that included hits like Here I Go Again and Is This Love. During a break from Whitesnake, he partnered with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin to release the platinum-selling Coverdale Page album. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple in 2016, Coverdale is recognized for his powerful blues-influenced vocals and has sold around 40 million records worldwide.
