Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey in 1940, is an English musician, songwriter, and actor best known as the drummer for the Beatles. He contributed lead vocals to several Beatles songs, including Yellow Submarine and With a Little Help from My Friends, and wrote tracks like Don't Pass Me By and Octopus's Garden. Joining the Beatles in 1962, he helped shape the band's iconic sound with his distinctive drumming style, which emphasized musical feel and composition. After the Beatles, Starr launched a successful solo career with hits such as It Don't Come Easy, Photograph, and You're Sixteen, and his 1973 album Ringo reached the top ten in both the UK and US. He has acted in films, narrated children's television, and since 1989 has toured internationally with his All-Starr Band. Recognized for his influence on modern drumming, Starr has won numerous honors, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a Beatle and as a solo artist, and he received a knighthood in 2018 for his contributions to music. As of 2025, he is the longest-living member of the Beatles.
