Peso Pluma, born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija in 1999, is a Mexican singer and rapper who has become a leading figure in the revival of regional Mexican music, especially corridos tumbados. Starting his career as a teenager writing and performing in a style rooted in Mexican tradition, he gained early recognition with the albums Ah y Qué and Efectos Secundarios. Peso Pluma’s breakthrough came with hits like Por Las Noches and El Belicón, quickly followed by viral collaborations such as AMG, PRC, and the record-setting Ella Baila Sola with Eslabón Armado, which was the first regional Mexican song to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 top 10. His innovative blend of Sinaloa-style sierreño with Latin hip hop and reggaeton has earned him both critical and commercial success.
