Luciano Pavarotti (1935–2007) was an Italian operatic tenor renowned for his powerful voice and remarkable tone, earning him the nickname "King of the High Cs." Rising to global fame through his opera recordings and charismatic performances, he became a household name as part of the Three Tenors, whose 1990 World Cup concert reached a worldwide audience and whose debut recording remains the best-selling classical album ever. Celebrated for his interpretations of bel canto roles and Puccini operas, Pavarotti also found success in popular music later in his career. He was recognized for his extensive charity work, including support for refugees and the Red Cross, and was honored with the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Pavarotti sold over 100 million records and gave his final public performance at the 2006 Winter Olympics before passing away in 2007.
