L.R. Baggs HiFi DNA — Advanced Bridge Plate Pickup System

The HiFi DNA is the next generation of the L.R. Baggs HiFi bridge plate pickup. It keeps the two qualities that defined the original — strong feedback resistance and an installation that leaves the instrument untouched — and adds a more sensitive sensor together with considerably more advanced signal processing. The result is a plugged-in tone with the dynamic realism, warmth and tactile immediacy of the guitar itself, which is exactly what a bridge plate system is meant to deliver and what simpler undersaddle pickups rarely manage.

Split Signal Processing

Rather than running both sensors into a single preamp input, the HiFi DNA gives each sensor its own studio-grade preamp circuit. The bass and treble halves of the bridge plate have a different frequency response, so processing them separately allows the frequency content of each to be sculpted with far more precision before the two signals are mixed into one output. Tonal purity of each sensor is preserved right up to the point where they are combined.

Next-Generation Sensor

Each HiFi DNA sensor is lighter and more flexible than the sensor used in the original HiFi. The added sensitivity lets the system reproduce the breath of the instrument and capture more of the natural voice and dynamic range of the guitar, rather than only the string attack.

Non-Invasive Installation

The sensors mount with a true peel-and-stick method — no gluing, no drilling and no other modification to the bridge or saddle. This low-impact design is why the guitar sounds the same acoustically after the system is fitted as it did before. A mounting jig is included to place the sensors accurately, together with extra adhesives and wire clips. Professional installation is required.
