Impact Soundworks Koron: Traditional Instruments of Persia is an exceptional virtual instrument library that captures the authentic sounds of 10 traditional Persian instruments with over 17,000 meticulously recorded samples and more than 1,200 unique performances. Designed for composers, producers, and musicians, Koron offers a rich palette of tones and textures that bring the timeless sound of Persian music into modern production environments.

The collection features both melodic and percussive instruments essential to Persian classical and folk music traditions. Melodic instruments include the Kamanche (a four-stringed bowed instrument akin to the violin), Tar (a plucked, three double-stringed lute), Tanbour (an ancient fretted instrument), Setar (a plucked long-necked lute with movable frets), and Santoor (a hammered dulcimer with a shimmering, resonant tone). Percussive instruments include the Bendir (a wooden frame drum), Daf (a large frame drum with metal rings), Kuzeh (a clay drum with unique tonal qualities), Tonbak (a goblet-shaped hand drum foundational to Persian music), and Zarbe (a larger version of the Tonbak with deep historical roots).

Koron stands out with its comprehensive sampling approach, featuring multiple dynamic layers, round robins, and expressive articulations such as legato and glissando. The library also includes a vast array of pre-recorded performances and phrases playable at various tempos and time signatures, empowering users to craft authentic Persian musical passages easily.

The user interface is thoughtfully designed for intuitive control, featuring a master drum patch, built-in phrase editor, and advanced articulation mapping technology (TACT) for seamless switching between playing techniques. Effects including EQ, compression, delay, and reverb are integrated for further customization.

More than just a sound library, Koron is a cultural tribute to the Persian musical concept of "Koron," which refers to notes that are a quarter-step lower in pitch, an essential feature of Eastern musical scales and expression. The library was developed in close collaboration with Iranian musicians and producer Siavash Mozaffari, ensuring an authentic and immersive experience.
