Heilung is a European experimental folk band formed in 2014 in Copenhagen. With members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany, they create music inspired by runic inscriptions and texts from ancient Germanic cultures of the Iron and Viking Ages. Describing their sound as amplified history, Heilung’s music often explores themes of Germanic mythology, including deities and legendary figures. The band’s name means healing in German.
