Black primer. GOLDEN Gesso is a flexible, ready-to-use acrylic dispersion ground that prepares a substrate or surface to accept paints by providing “tooth” to promote paint adhesion.

• Semi-opaque waterborne acrylic dispersion ground.
• Suitable for acrylic and oil paints (and many other media).
• Dries Satin to Matte in sheen.
• Stir before use; some settling is expected.
• Ready to use; can be thinned with water up to 25%.
• Appropriate on canvas, panel and various acrylic-receptive surfaces.
• Can be brush, trowel, or spray-applied (rolling may produce foam).
• Allow 1 -3 hours between applications, depending upon environment.
• Can be mixed with GOLDEN Acrylics to produce range of colored grounds.
• Gesso can be modified with most GOLDEN Gels & Mediums to increase flexibility, lower tooth and absorbency.
• Thin applications are recommended. Thin applications can conform to a variety of textures without cracking, thick single-applications may crack.
• May be susceptible to cracking if a canvas is overly flexed or stretched, especially at colder temperatures.
• For indoor use only.
• Always test before your application for best results.
• Store in a cool/dry location at temperatures above 50° F, ideally between 60° F & 90° F. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as well as exposure to temperatures exceeding 120° F for extended periods.
• Clean your skin and equipment immediately after use with soap and warm water.
