Fontaines DC is an Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2014, featuring Grian Chatten on vocals, Conor Curley and Carlos OConnell on guitars, Conor Deegan III on bass, and Tom Coll on drums. The members met at BIMM Dublin music college, united by a shared passion for poetry, and began their career by self-releasing singles and playing live shows. Their debut album Dogrel was released in 2019 to critical acclaim, earning multiple end-of-year awards and nominations. Follow-up albums A Hero's Death and Skinty Fia further established their reputation, with Skinty Fia reaching number one in both Ireland and the UK. Their 2024 album Romance continued their success, winning The Album Award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards. Fontaines DC is known for their raw sound, poetic lyrics, and energetic performances.
