Dead or Alive was an English pop band formed in Liverpool in 1979. The group found major success in the mid-1980s, known especially for the chart-topping single You Spin Me Round Like a Record. The classic lineup featured Pete Burns, Steve Coy, Mike Percy, and Tim Lever. Over their career, Dead or Alive released seven studio albums and produced several UK Top 40 singles, with You Spin Me Round and Brand New Lover both reaching the US Top 20. After Percy and Lever departed in 1989, Burns and Coy continued as the core members until Burns passed away in 2016, after which the band was disbanded. Dead or Alive remain recognized for their influential dance-pop sound and enduring hits.
