Christopher Alvin Stapleton, born in Kentucky in 1978, is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He moved to Nashville in 1996, originally studying engineering at Vanderbilt University before shifting his focus entirely to music. Early in his career, Stapleton signed with Sea Gayle Music, establishing himself as a sought-after songwriter with several number-one hits for artists like Kenny Chesney, Josh Turner, George Strait, and Luke Bryan. He has also worked with major names such as Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and Taylor Swift.
Before launching his solo career, Stapleton performed as a vocalist in the SteelDrivers and the Jompson Brothers.
