Brockhampton was an American hip-hop collective formed in San Marcos, Texas in 2014 by Kevin Abstract. Initially coming together through online forums, the group stood out for its large, diverse lineup, which included rappers, singers, producers, designers, and photographers from a variety of backgrounds. Brockhampton first gained attention with their 2016 mixtape All-American Trash, then broke out with the acclaimed Saturation trilogy in 2017. Signing to RCA Records in 2018, they released Iridescence, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Their later albums Ginger and Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine continued their run of commercial and critical success, with the single Sugar becoming a multi-platinum hit. Known for redefining the idea of a boy band and for their rapid creative output, Brockhampton released eight studio albums before disbanding in 2022 after their final projects The Family and TM.
