I bought this pickup as a replacement for Nostrand Big Single bridge on my fretless (same size). And I was very pleasantly surprised how similar they sound (OK on studio headphones I hear is a tiny bit more lower mid, a tiny bit less trebble, a tiny bit less dynamics, but the difference is a smaller than changing string brands of the same type and gauge). I was experiencing hum sometimes so I decided to buy a humbucker. It arrived in 17 days. On the other hand one can get this legendary Bart sound for half the price from Norstrand if he does not mind a little hum in certain situations.
