Anouk Schemmekes, known professionally as Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter who rose to fame with her 1997 hit "Nobody's Wife." She has since become one of the Netherlands' most successful recording artists, with multiple chart-topping albums and well-known singles such as "Michel," "Girl," "Lost," and "Birds." Anouk's music blends rock, pop, and adult contemporary styles, and she has also explored more folk-influenced Dutch-language material in recent years. By 2022, she had released thirteen studio albums, including one produced in the United States by Glen Ballard. In 2013, Anouk represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest, reaching the final with "Birds" and achieving international recognition.
