Animals as Leaders is an instrumental progressive metal band from Washington DC, formed in 2007 by guitarist Tosin Abasi. Since 2012, the lineup has included Abasi, Javier Reyes on rhythm guitar, and Matt Garstka on drums. Known for their technical musicianship and influence on the djent scene, the group has released several acclaimed albums, including their debut in 2009, as well as Weightless, The Joy of Motion, The Madness of Many, and Parrhesia.
