Yamaha Recording Custom RBS1455 14" Real Wood Virveli

Borrowing from over 50 years of Yamaha drum craftsmanship, the Recording Custom RBS1455 is a 14" × 5.5" birch snare drum that delivers the wide tuning range, moderate attack, and dynamic response that studio drummers worldwide have relied on for decades. Its 6-ply, 6 mm 100% birch shell with 30-degree bearing edges and 25-strand snare wire ensures each stroke speaks clearly, whether played softly or driven hard.

6-Ply Birch Shell

The 100% birch shell with a 30-degree/R1.5 bearing edge delivers a sharp response and clear snare sensitivity across the dynamic range. The birch construction offers a wide tuning range, responds well to different head choices, and is straightforward to tune for any musical situation.

One-Piece Lug

The revamped one-piece lug design retains the traditional Recording Custom essence while maximizing the sustain of the birch core tone, producing a crisp, articulate sound with optimum resonance.

Q-Type Strainer

The heavy-duty Q-type strainer provides robust and stable operation with smooth adjustment, offering reliable performance in both studio and live applications.

Triple-Flange Hoop

The sturdy yet lightweight 1.6 mm triple-flange hoop provides an open sound, a wide tuning window, and a great backbeat feel, complementing the natural character of the birch shell.
