Super Knob
With the Super Knob, you can create dynamic sound changes from the radical to the sublime. The Super Knob can control multiple parameters simultaneously, resulting in the creation of anything you can imagine.
For example: change your listening position from a position directly in front of the instrument to a position in the back seat of a concert hall. Or to radically change the character of the performance from atmospheric and soft to rhythmic and sharp.
The Super Knob can even be assigned to a second FC7 foot controller, making it easy to manipulate the sound when playing with both hands.

Motion SEQ
Motion Sequences are tempo-synchronized, fully customizable control sequences that can be assigned to virtually any synth parameter, providing incredibly creative new ways to program sound.
Motion sequences also feature dedicated front-panel controls that facilitate real-time manipulation and changes, providing incredible interactivity and expressiveness.

Envelope Follower
The Envelope Follower turns audio into a control source to control virtually any synthesizer parameter. For example, a drum loop can control effects parameters for great beats, or a vocal recording can control multiple parameters of a "talking" synthesizer. The audio can even be a "live" source via the A/D input.

AVM2
Featuring Yamaha's proprietary AWM2 data compression and audio playback technology, the Montage8 enables massive data compression without loss of sound quality for unmatched, realistic sound reproduction.

MONTAGE is packed with DSP innovations, performance and especially sound quality - from high-resolution reverbs to incredibly detailed VCM (Virtual Circuit Modeling) effects. Use effects like Beat Repeat, Vinyl Break or Bit Crusher to get a modern EDM sound. You can even add a sidechain compressor for a modern "ducking" effect. Or go retro with vintage effects like Analog Delay, VCM Phaser or various amp simulators. Pianists will appreciate piano-focused effects like Damper Resonance for a super-realistic piano experience, and HD reverbs that let you immerse yourself in any performance space.

Pure Analog Circuit
MONTAGE has professionally balanced outputs with "Pure Analog Circuit" (PAC). PAC improves signal quality after digital-to-analog conversion for clear harmonic reproduction and even frequency response. The result is an output capable of expressively reproducing the internal contents of MONTAGE with power and clarity.

USB Audio/Midi
Connect MONTAGE to your computer with a single USB cable and capture every detail of your creativity in your DAW. MONTAGE's powerful USB controller can send 16 and receive 3 channels of STEREO 24-bit/44.1kHz digital audio to/from your computer or iOS device (No driver required for MONTAGE!), no other hardware required!

The USB connection is also equipped with full support for 16 MIDI channels.
MONTAGE supports sampling rates up to 192 kHz.

Seamless Sound Switching
Seamless Sound Switching (SSS) allows for smooth power changes without interrupting the envelope or effects. This is ideal for live performances where you end one song and start another without interruption.

A/D input
The A/D input processes external audio sources using DSP. You can use microphones, guitars or any line source as input and process it with internal effects.

Live Set
The Live Set feature lets you arrange your performances the way you want without copying, reordering or renaming. Once a performance is selected, you can easily register it to Live Set. This is ideal for playing gigs or even creating your own organizational chart for Performances.

Direct Control Assignment
Direct Control Assignment assigns controls at the push of a button. Just select a parameter, press the Direct Control Assignment button and move the controller to control that parameter. It is simple!
