The piano offers an enhanced Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM) that calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard, as well as the aliquot resonance in the upper octaves, and the full resonance of the soundboard, rim, and frame. It also features Yamaha Smooth Release technology for finely-nuanced response, Key-Off sample recordings and three pedals including the GP Response Damper pedal which continually detects depression depth and allows half-pedalling. Similar to an acoustic piano, this model is calibrated carefully, with speaker positioning and body materials checked to ensure that the entire instrument resonates optimally. It is equipped with two 150W amplifiers and two spruce cone speakers for more natural, piano-like attack of the sound, plus the Twisted Flare Port technology for clearer bass sound. The advanced binaural sampling technology for headphones uses samples from the CFX, Yamaha’s acclaimed concert grand piano, recorded with specialized microphones that capture locational information and other nuances discerned by the human ear. The piano also provides various effects (Reverb, Chorus, Intelligent Acoustic Control etc.) and functions (Dual/Layers, Split…), more than 350 preset songs, multi-track song recorder and USB audio recorder, various inputs (including USB and MIDI) and Bluetooth connectivity.
