SX SPJ62+ Black 4-kielinen bassokitara

SX SPJ62+ Black — A Vintage-Style P-Bass for the Working Player

SX SPJ62+ Black is a four-string electric bass guitar that pairs the voice of a Precision-style instrument with the tonal flexibility of a Jazz-style bridge pickup. Built around a solid basswood body and a bolt-on maple neck, this Vintage Series model delivers classic P-Bass character at an accessible price. Such an instrument is the right choice for bassists who want a passive PJ rig with vintage-inspired looks and sound.

What Sets the SPJ62+ Apart

Where many budget basses settle for a single split-coil pickup, this model combines a middle-position Single Coil Precision Bass pickup with a bridge-position Single Coil J-Bass pickup, opening up a wider tonal palette. The 3-piece solid basswood body is uncommon at this tier, paired with a Selected Canadian Maple neck and a 2-way truss rod for stable action.

Body Construction — Lightweight Basswood with a 3-Piece Build

Basswood stays light on the shoulder while delivering a balanced, mid-forward voice that sits well in a mix. Solid basswood construction keeps the weight manageable for long rehearsals, and the polished gloss finish seals the wood against sweat, dust, and minor scuffs.

• Body Material: Solid Basswood (3-piece) — light on the shoulder, balanced midrange
• Polished gloss finish creates a durable sealed surface that protects the wood from sweat, dust, and minor scuffs during regular play.
• 3-Ply Black pickguard — classic visual contrast against the black body

Neck and Fretboard — Maple, Rosewood, and a Familiar Scale

The maple neck is the structural heart of any bolt-on bass, and this unit uses a Selected Canadian Maple profile in a comfortable C shape. The 864 mm scale length is the standard P-Bass measurement, giving the strings the right tension for a tight, defined low end.

• Neck Material: Selected Canadian Maple, C profile — stable and resistant to warping
• Scale Length: 864 mm — standard P-Bass tension and attack
• Rosewood fretboard with 42 mm synthetic bone nut and 20 Medium nickel frets — warm response with smooth playability

Pickups and Hardware — Passive PJ with Chrome Components

The passive PJ configuration is the headline feature: a Single Coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle delivers the fat, round fundamental that defines the P-Bass sound, while the Single Coil J-Bass pickup at the bridge adds growl and string-to-string definition.

• Pickup Configuration: PJ (P-Bass middle + J-Bass bridge) — two distinct single-coil voices
• Electronics: Passive (2 Volume, 1 Tone) — no battery required
• 4-Saddle Standard bridge with Open-Gear chrome tuners — solid anchor points and vintage-correct look

Who Should Choose This P-Bass

Built for beginners stepping into their first serious four-string bass, returning players who want a dependable backup, and working musicians who need a passive PJ rig that covers rock, blues, jazz, and country without fuss. The 864 mm scale and 42 mm nut width match the geometry of higher-tier P-Basses, so skills transfer cleanly to any future upgrade.
