Slade are a legendary English rock band formed in Wolverhampton in 1966. Pioneers of the glam rock movement, they dominated the UK charts in the early 1970s with a string of energetic hits, earning 17 consecutive top 20 singles and six number ones. Known for their raucous sound, memorable choruses, and playfully misspelled song titles like Cum On Feel the Noize and Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Slade became Britain's top singles act of the decade. Their classic festive anthem Merry Xmas Everybody has sold over a million copies, helping them achieve more than 50 million records sold worldwide. Throughout their career, they have influenced generations of musicians with Noddy Holder's powerful vocals and Dave Hill's flamboyant stage presence. Despite several lineup changes and a brief disbandment, Slade continue to perform and remain one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK glam rock era.
