Sexion d'Assaut is a French hip hop group formed in Paris in 2002. Originally called 3ème Prototype, the group brought together eight rappers, including founding members L.I.O. Black M, Maska, and Lefa, later joined by Maître Gims and JR O Crom. Known for their old school and underground approach, Sexion d’Assaut stood out from the mainstream French rap scene by avoiding flashy trends. The group built a strong underground following for years before exploding onto the scene with their 2010 debut album L'École des points vitaux, which achieved quadruple platinum status. Their subsequent albums, En attendant L'Apogée: les Chroniques du 75 and L'Apogée, were also major successes. Although they announced a comeback with a third album and a national tour, only the tour went ahead as the album was cancelled. Sexion d’Assaut is signed to Wati B, under Sony Music France.
