Russell Tyrone Jones, known as Ol' Dirty Bastard or ODB, was an influential American rapper and a founding member of Wu-Tang Clan, the groundbreaking New York hip hop group formed in 1992. Launching his solo career with the album "Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version" in 1995, ODB became known for his wild, unique style that blended unpredictable lyrics and an unconventional vocal delivery. Despite his impact on hip hop, his career was often overshadowed by legal issues and periods of incarceration. He died in 2004 at the age of 35 from an accidental drug overdose. He is the father of rapper Young Dirty Bastard.
