Geoffrey Arnold Beck (24 June 1944 – 10 January 2023) was an acclaimed English guitarist known for his innovative playing and genre-spanning career. Rising to fame with the Yardbirds, he later formed the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert and Appice. From 1975, he focused on instrumental music, blending blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion, and electronic styles. Widely recognized as one of rock's most influential guitarists, Beck received eight Grammy Awards and was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, both as a Yardbirds member and solo artist. His inventive sound and collaborations with many artists earned him lasting critical praise.
