RWS - RESPONSIBLE WOOL STANDARD
For range of wool underwear, we apply the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). It is a voluntary global standard that ensures the well-being of sheep and the land they graze on. Inner range is already fully certified to the RWS standard - ensuring that we only use responsibly produced wool for these products.
- The purpose of RWS is to support and promote best practice for sheep farmers, to ensure that the wool comes from farms with a progressive approach to land management, and from sheep that have been treated responsibly.
- All certified partners and all steps in the supply chain, including Bergans, are checked and recertified every year by a third-party organization. This is guarantee that animal welfare is maintained and taken into account throughout the supply chain.
- RWS is an independent, voluntary standard. The certification ensures that the sheep are treated with respect for their five freedoms on the farms, and that the best practices for managing and protecting the land are applied. The certification ensures that wool from certified partners is correctly identified and tracked.
Important points of the RWS standard:

- Conservation of soil health: Soil health, biodiversity and native species are protected.
- Traceable supply chain: The identity of the wool is maintained from farm to final product.
