Baton Rouge X75C/SD Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

The Baton Rouge X75C/SD is a Slope Shoulder Dreadnought acoustic guitar that draws on the rounded-shoulder dreadnoughts popular in the 1930s, blending vintage ergonomics with modern build quality. A solid Canadian cedar top gives the instrument a warm, resonant voice with quick response, while solid walnut back and sides add depth and articulation across the frequency range. The result is a guitar that handles fingerstyle with clarity and supports strumming with authority, fitting naturally into folk, country, blues, and singer-songwriter settings.

What Sets the X75C/SD Apart

The Slope Shoulder body shape is the defining visual and acoustic signature, offering a more rounded shoulder line than a standard dreadnought for improved ergonomics during long sessions. Bone nut and saddle, maple body bindings, and a Natural High Gloss finish complete the package. The instrument ships with Elixir coated strings, prized for their long life and consistent tone.

Tonewoods — Solid Cedar and Walnut for a Warm, Articulate Voice

The choice of tonewoods shapes everything a player hears from an acoustic guitar. Solid cedar tops are known for their quick response and warm midrange, while solid walnut back and sides bring a balanced blend of deep lows and sparkling highs.

• Top: Solid Canadian Cedar — warm, resonant tone with quick response and clear upper frequencies
• Back & Sides: Solid Walnut — balanced sound with deep basses and sparkling highs
• Neck: Okoume — lightweight and stable for comfortable long playing sessions
• Fingerboard & Bridge: Laurel — dense and hard for excellent sound transmission and durability

Body Shape and Neck Specs — Comfortable for Fingerstyle

The Slope Shoulder Dreadnought body provides a generous sound chamber with vintage-inspired ergonomics, while the neck dimensions are tuned for fingerstyle and complex chord work.

Hardware and Finish — Bone, Chrome, and High Gloss

Hardware and finish choices affect tuning stability, intonation, and the instrument's visual presence on stage or in the studio.

• Tuners: Chrome — stable tuning and clean visual contrast against the natural finish
• Bindings: Maple — elegant visual contrast and edge protection

• Strings: Elixir coated — long-lasting tone and corrosion resistance

Who Should Play the Baton Rouge X75C/SD

The X75C/SD is the right choice for advanced fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters who need a warm, articulate voice with strong projection. The 46 mm nut width and 630 mm scale length give fingers enough room for complex fingerpicking patterns, while the Slope Shoulder Dreadnought body delivers the volume and bass response needed for solo acoustic performance. It is well suited to folk, country, blues, and singer-songwriter material, and the solid tonewood construction rewards players who appreciate how an instrument opens up over time. Right-handed players will find the standard orientation, and the lack of a cutaway keeps the design focused on traditional acoustic tone.
