The setting of the Latin anthem Te Deum only briefly preceded Dvořák's departure for America. The text was close to Dvořák's and his concept combines the tradition of church music, as Dvořák knew it intimately from Czech choirs with a magnificent oratorial style. The piano lift was prepared by Karel Šolc according to the critical edition of the score. The volume is part of the first Collective Critical Edition of A. Dvořák's works.
