Acid Bath is a sludge metal band from Houma, Louisiana, active primarily from 1991 to 1997. Known for being pioneers in the genre, the group blended doom metal with hardcore punk, death metal, gothic rock, blues, grunge, and Southern rock, creating a distinct and influential sound. The band disbanded after bassist Audie Pitre died in a car accident in 1997, but announced their reunion in October 2024.
