XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2: Progressive & Heavy Collection (Digital product)

Addictive Drums 2: Progressive & Heavy Collection — Two Kits, Hundreds of Grooves

The XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2: Progressive & Heavy Collection brings two professionally recorded drum kits and two MIDIpaks together in a single package for Addictive Drums 2. XLN Audio includes the Addictive Drums 2 engine with every Collection, and all four products run inside it. Recorded by renowned metal producer David Castillo, the Progressive Metal and Modern Heavy ADpaks cover the full spectrum of heavy music, from intricate progressive arrangements to thunderous modern metal. Both kits feature dual kick drums, giving players the natural, alternating feel that makes double-kick patterns come alive in a mix.

What Makes This Collection Stand Out

The Progressive Metal ADpak is anchored in the precise, melodic playing of Opeth's Waltteri Väyrynen, performed on his Pearl Reference Pure kit with dual 22-inch kicks, four toms, two snares in brass and steel, a hand-selected gong, and a full spread of Sabian HHX and AAX cymbals, plus 48 handcrafted presets from respected metal producers. The Modern Heavy ADpak centers on David Castillo's personal TAMA Star kit, drawing kicks, snares, toms, and cymbals from TAMA, Paiste, Ludwig, and Pearl — built to stand strong alongside down-tuned guitars and guttural vocals.

Who Is It For

The Addictive Drums 2: Progressive & Heavy Collection is the right choice for producers and songwriters working in modern metal, progressive metal, and heavy rock who need authentic, performance-ready drum parts without hiring a session drummer. The Progressive Metal Beats & Songs MIDIpak adds more than 390 MIDI files from Waltteri Väyrynen, capturing tight blast and double-kick passages, complex progressive grooves, and evolving song structures. The Modern Heavy Beats & Songs MIDIpak adds over 300 MIDI files performed by Dylan Watson of Kassogtha and Cân Bardd, with playing inspired by genre heavyweights like Gojira, Pantera, Opeth, and Rammstein. The Modern Heavy grooves come at various tempos, balancing speed with feel and finesse.
