Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2 — A Record-Ready Voice and Guitar Interface

The Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2 is the entry model of the second-generation Volt range, built for singers, guitarists, podcasters and beginners who want their first recordings to sound like a record rather than a demo. A Tone Shaping Preamp with 60 dB of gain feeds 32-bit / 192 kHz converters, and USB bus power means it goes wherever your computer, tablet or phone goes.

Tone Shaping — Analog Character at the Source

The preamp offers three character modes: Warmth for tube tone, Focus for solid-state clarity and Shine for British Class-A sheen. The tone is added while you track, so vocals and acoustic instruments land in the DAW full and detailed.

Inputs, Outputs and Conversion

A mic/line combo input with switchable 48V phantom power handles dynamic and condenser microphones, while the front-panel Hi-Z instrument input takes guitar or bass, so voice and instrument can be recorded at the same time.

Easy Setup for Recording and Streaming

Volt 1 Gen 2 is class-compliant, so it works with any DAW without installing drivers on Mac, iPad or iPhone. Built-in loopback blends live sources with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams and video calls, and the UAD Console app and LUNA integrate directly with the hardware.
