NANO FUM Modular System
The NANO FUM is a stereo multi-effects processor in a compact 12HP Eurorack module that packs six studio-grade effects into a single signal path. Each effect lives on a bipolar slider with the centre off and each direction opening a different character — ping-pong delay, hall or gated reverb, octave pitch shifting, chorus/flanger, white noise or granular texture, and a DJ-style tilt filter. An internal Motion modulator animates everything via LFO or Sample & Hold, while six CV inputs and a clock input make it fully patchable. RGB LEDs give instant visual feedback on every parameter.
- Six stereo effects on bipolar sliders — no menus, no shift layers
- Clock-syncable ping-pong delay with three time ranges and clean or dirty feedback
- Internal Motion LFO/S&H that animates only the effects you have open
- Freeze button holds the delay buffer and sustains the reverb indefinitely
Stereo Multi-FX Power in 12HP — The NANO FUM Eurorack Module
The NANO FUM is a stereo multi-effects processor that compresses six studio-grade effects into a single 12HP Eurorack module. Every effect sits on its own bipolar slider where the centre is silence and each direction opens a different character — ping-pong delay, hall or gated reverb, octave pitch shifting, chorus or flanger, white noise or granular texture, and a DJ-style tilt filter. This module is built for immediate, hands-on control with no menus or shift layers. An internal Motion modulator animates whichever effects you have open, while six CV inputs and a clock input make it fully patchable. RGB LEDs read out every parameter live, with a red blink for clipping and ice-blue when Freeze is active.
One Control, Two Characters — Plus a Motion Engine That Plays Itself
What separates this module from typical multi-FX designs is its bipolar-slider philosophy: every effect has exactly one control, and the direction you push it determines the character. Push the delay slider one way for clean feedback, the other for dirty, tape-like saturation; the pitch shifter cascades into shimmer upward and adds sub-octave weight downward. The Motion engine is the second rare feature — a single knob sets the type, speed, and depth of an internal LFO or Sample & Hold that animates only the effects you have already opened, so it adds life without turning into randomness.
Six Stereo Effects Sharing One Signal Path
The effects chain uses a hybrid series-and-parallel routing system that lets each engine feed the next while blending against the dry signal. Clock-syncable with three time ranges and ping-pong stereo spread, the delay locks to your patch tempo; the reverb offers a natural hall or rhythmic gated tail; the chorus and flanger sit in parallel and only process the dry sound; the texture layer is audio-responsive and breathes with your input; and the Color filter shapes the whole mix like a DJ tilt EQ.
- Delay: ping-pong, clock-syncable, three time ranges — clean or distorted feedback from a single bipolar slider
- Reverb: natural Hall or rhythmic Gated — two characters from one control
- Pitch Shifter: octave up into shimmer or octave down for weight — self-enforcing internal feedback creates cascading octaves
- Chorus / Flanger: chorus thickens, flanger sweeps — modulation rate follows the delay tempo
- Texture: white noise or granular grit, audio-responsive — envelope-follows the input signal so the noise breathes dynamically
- Color Filter: DJ-style tilt, low-pass or high-pass — shapes the entire mix from one knob
Motion, Freeze, and Alternate Modes — Performance-Ready Modulation
The Motion engine turns the module into a self-playing instrument. Pushing the Motion knob right brings in a smooth triangle LFO that modulates every open effect; pulling it left engages Sample & Hold for stepped, unpredictable movement. Freeze captures the current delay buffer and sustains the reverb indefinitely, letting you keep playing on top of a held moment. Holding Freeze and turning one of three knobs reaches the Alternate Modes — filter only the effects, add effects on top of a constant dry signal, or feed the texture noise into the effects chain so the module becomes a sound source of its own.
- Motion: internal LFO or Sample & Hold, one knob sets type/speed/depth — animates only the effects you have open
- Freeze: holds delay buffer, sustains reverb indefinitely — unlocks Alternate Modes when held while turning a knob
- CV Inputs: 6 CV inputs plus Clock input, 3.5 mm TS jacks — every slider has its own CV input for external modulation
12HP Eurorack Format with Skiff-Friendly Depth
The FUM fits into a standard Eurorack case at 12HP wide and only 25 mm deep including connectors, making it skiff-friendly. Stereo input and output on 3.5 mm TS jacks are normalled so a mono source feeds both channels automatically. The module runs on +12V at 150 mA and -12V at 7 mA with no +5V draw, and processes audio at 48 kHz with 32-bit float internal precision for clean, artefact-free effects even at extreme settings.
- Width: 12 HP (60.96 × 128.5 mm) — compact footprint that leaves room for sequencing and modulation modules
- Depth: 25 mm including connectors — skiff-friendly, fits shallow cases
- Current Draw: +12V 150 mA / -12V 7 mA / +5V 0 mA — moderate power budget, no +5V rail needed
- Sample Rate: 48 kHz, 32-bit float — professional-grade audio resolution for clean effects
For Modular Performers Who Want Immediate, Hands-On FX Control
The NANO FUM is the right choice for Eurorack players who want studio-quality stereo effects without menu diving or preset management. It suits live performers who need to dial in delay, reverb, pitch, modulation, texture, and filtering from a single 12HP panel during a set. Sound designers will appreciate the hybrid routing that lets the delay feed the pitch shifter, the pitch shifter feed the delay, and the texture layer breathe with the input signal. The module also works well as an oscillator processor — a single saw wave can be turned into a wide, swarmy stereo sound using just the chorus and reverb, then filtered and pitch-shifted into something much bigger.
Released in 2026 with a DivKid Walkthrough and Free VCV Rack Version
The FUM was released by NANO Industries in 2026 as part of their Eurorack lineup, which also includes the ISO-F1 analog isolator and ST·OUT stereo output module. DivKid reviewed the module in depth, highlighting the one-control-per-function philosophy and the way the Motion engine adds musical life without overwhelming the patch. NANO Industries also offers a free VCV Rack digital version for prototyping patches on screen before committing to hardware.

LFO: 1
An LFO, or low frequency oscillator, brings electronic sound to life. It adds movement and interest to synthetic sounds and effects, playing an important role in both subtle synthesis and bold sound design. However, you won't hear the LFO itself because it acts as a modulator. This means that it does not directly affect the audio signal, but adjusts other parameters such as oscillator pitch and filter clipping.
