This powerful tool is packed with strange and wonderful features, offering six distinct algorithms, each with its own personality, and extensive modulation capabilities. Whether you need basic stereo dual delays or innovative granular pitch-shifting chaos, Other Desert Cities has you covered.

Algorithms

• Desert Shores Stereo Delay: A standard dual delay featuring basic EQ, saturation, crossfeed, and spread.
• Mecca Reverse Delay: A dual delay where the repeats play backward for a unique twist.
• Cactus Dual-Delta Delay: Mimics a pair of tape delays with individual speed controls and pitch quantizing.
• Thermal Multi-Tap Delay: A dual multi-tap delay equipped with spread, crossfeed, and basic EQ.
• Mirage Multi-Head Delay: An experimental tape delay with a rotating head, offering strange and wonderful sounds.
• Sky Valley Granular Delay: A pitch-shifting granular delay that allows control over grain size and scatter, along with EQ.

Modulation

Other Desert Cities features a comprehensive suite of modulation options. With two tempo-synced variable waveshape LFOs and an envelope follower sourced from either the main inputs or a sidechain input, nearly every control in the user interface can be extensively modulated. This opens up new dimensions of sonic possibilities.

Diffusor

Enhancing its capabilities, Other Desert Cities includes a diffusor that "smears" the feedback path, bringing it closer to the realm of reverb, especially when using the Thermal multi-tap algorithm.

Levels

The secret superpower of Other Desert Cities lies in its I/O control. You can manipulate every aspect of the signal chain's gain structure. Ducking is easily achievable, allowing you to duck, pan, oscillate, and envelop signals to your heart's content. The Mute and Input Level controls adjust the input levels to the delay block without affecting the dry signal, enabling "tails" behavior and the use of insert effects like sends.
