D'Addario J814 3/4M G Violin Strings

D'Addario Prelude Violin G String — Warm, Stable Tone for 3/4 Scale Student Violins

The D'Addario Prelude Violin Single G String is purpose-built for 3/4 size violins, offering the warm, mellow tone and pitch stability that have made the Prelude line the educator's preferred choice for student strings. At its core is a solid steel wire that resists the temperature and humidity swings common in school practice rooms, so the string stays in tune from the first lesson through the final concert. The G string is nickel-wound over that steel core, producing a full, rounded low-end response that complements the brighter A and D strings in the Prelude set. Packaged in a uniquely-designed sealed pouch, this replacement string arrives protected from the corrosive elements that shorten the life of lesser strings. Whether replacing a broken G or upgrading a factory-installed string, this single G delivers the consistent performance that teachers and students rely on.

Who It's For — 3/4 Scale Student and Intermediate Violinists

The D'Addario Prelude Violin Single G String is the right choice for students, teachers, and parents who need a reliable, affordable replacement G string for a 3/4 size violin. It fits the typical 3/4 scale instrument with a 310 mm playing length, making it a direct swap for the G that ships with most student outfits. Medium tension suits the majority of players, offering enough resistance for clear articulation under the bow without the heavy feel that can fatigue young hands. The solid steel core and nickel winding hold up to daily practice, frequent tuning, and the inevitable bumps of school life, while the ball-end fitting speeds up changes during group lessons. Educators stocking repair kits and parents looking for a trustworthy single-string replacement will find this G string a practical, classroom-tested option.
