D'Addario NYNW017 Single Guitar String

NYXL Single String for Electric Guitar — Enhanced Mid-Range and Tuning Stability

The D'Addario NYNW017 is a single .017" gauge nickel-plated steel string from the NYXL series, built for electric guitar players who need a replacement or want to assemble a custom gauge set. Its round-wound construction with a reformulated wrap wire delivers enhanced mid-range frequency response for more presence and crunch to cut through the mix. Compared to traditional nickel wound strings, NYXL offers improved tuning stability — players get in tune faster and stay in tune better. Made in the USA at D'Addario's New York production facility, this single string is part of the enhanced NYXL string series. Perfect as a replacement string or for creating customized sets, it fits any standard electric guitar position that calls for a .017 gauge.

Who It's For

The NYNW017 is the right choice for electric guitar players who need a single replacement string at the .017 gauge position — whether that's the high E or B string on a standard 6-string, or a specific position on a 7-string setup. It's ideal for players who want to mix and match gauges to create a custom set, or for touring musicians who keep spares of their most break-prone strings. The enhanced mid-range response and tuning stability make it well-suited for rock, metal, and modern pop styles where presence and crunch matter. As part of the NYXL series, it pairs naturally with other NYXL singles for a fully customized string setup.
