D'Addario LE028PB Guitar string

Single Replacement String for Acoustic Guitar

The D'Addario LE028PB Phosphor Bronze Loop End Single String is a standalone replacement string designed for acoustic guitar players who need to swap out one broken or worn string without replacing the entire set. Built with a round-wound phosphor bronze wrap over a steel core, this .028" gauge string delivers the warm, balanced tonal character that has made phosphor bronze a standard choice for acoustic flat-top guitars. The loop-end design fits traditional acoustic bridge pins, so installation is straightforward for any player comfortable with a basic string change. As a coated string, it offers extended tonal life compared to uncoated phosphor bronze, helping the string retain its bright character through more playing hours and changing humidity conditions. Designed, engineered, and manufactured at the D'Addario New York production facility, this single string carries the same build quality as the brand's full sets.

Who It's For

The D'Addario LE028PB is the right choice for acoustic guitar players who need a single replacement string in the .028" gauge range — typically the 4th (D) string position on a standard light or medium acoustic set. It suits players who prefer to keep their existing set intact rather than buy a full replacement pack, whether due to a mid-session break or gradual wear on a single string. Phosphor bronze wrap with round-wound construction pairs naturally with fingerstyle, folk, and singer-songwriter playing styles where warm, full-bodied acoustic tone matters most. Beginners learning their first string changes and experienced players maintaining a favorite guitar will both find this single-string format practical and economical.
