D'Addario H512 1/8M D 1/8 Cello Strings

Helicore Cello D String for Fractional-Size Instruments

The D'Addario Helicore Cello Single D String, 1/8 Scale, Medium Tension is a standalone replacement string for the D position on a fractional-size cello. Built around a stranded steel core — the multi-filament construction shared across the entire Helicore cello line — this string produces the warm, powerful tone and excellent bow response the series is known for. Purchasing a single replacement is the practical move when only the D has worn out or broken, avoiding the cost of a complete set. The 1/8 scale sizing matches the smallest standard cello format, typically played by younger students.

Who This String Is For

The Helicore Cello Single D String is the right choice for cellists who need a single replacement string for a 1/8 scale instrument without buying a full set. It suits students and younger players whose fractional-size cello requires a matched D string that blends with the rest of a Helicore setup. Medium tension offers a balanced feel — responsive enough for developing technique without being too heavy for smaller hands. Because all D'Addario orchestral strings are 100% designed, engineered, and crafted in the company's New York facilities, every replacement delivers consistent quality and pitch stability.
