Helicore Cello A String: Clear, Warm Tone with Fast Bow Response

The D'Addario Helicore Cello Single A String, 4/4 Scale, Medium Tension is a replacement A string designed specifically for full-size cellos. Built around a multi-stranded steel core, this string delivers the clear, warm tone and fast bow response that have made the Helicore line a favorite among cellists worldwide. Whether replacing a worn A string or fine-tuning the tension profile of a complete set, this standalone string offers the responsive playability and articulate sound that define the series.

Unlike traditional solid-core constructions, the multi-stranded steel core gives the A string a delightfully responsive feel under the fingers while maintaining excellent pitch stability across changing temperatures and humidity. This makes it well-suited for dynamic playing techniques, from delicate pianissimo passages to aggressive fortissimo bow strokes. The medium tension provides a balanced resistance that works across a variety of instrument types and musical genres, from classical repertoire to alternative styles.
