Fender CD-60S Dreadnought WN Natural — Solid-Top Dreadnought for Every Player

The Fender CD-60S Dreadnought WN Natural stands among Fender's most popular acoustic instruments, offering the volume and projection of a classic dreadnought at an accessible price. Combining a solid spruce top with laminated mahogany back and sides, it creates a tonal foundation that matures with playing time for both beginners and intermediate players. From couch sessions to outdoor gatherings or coffeehouse performances, musicians can count on this dreadnought to deliver classic Fender sound and playability.

Solid Spruce Top and Scalloped Bracing — Quality Touches at an Entry Price

What distinguishes this model in its tier is the use of quartersawn scalloped "X"-bracing under a genuine solid spruce top. The bracing removes wood where it isn't structurally needed, letting the top vibrate more freely and yielding an open, resonant tone. Players will find a walnut fingerboard and bridge, chrome die-cast tuners, and a 1-ply black pickguard, all contributing to a stage-ready aesthetic.

Dreadnought Body Geometry — Volume and Warmth for Strummers

Expect strong low-end response and projection from the dreadnought body shape, which cuts through chord progressions with ease. When paired with laminated mahogany back and sides, the solid spruce top produces a balanced voice—clear on the treble, full and warm on the bass. The gloss finish safeguards the wood while showcasing its natural grain.

• Body Shape: Dreadnought — full lower bout for maximum volume and bass response
• Top Material: Solid Spruce — projects clearly and opens up with playing time, giving the guitar a voice that matures over years of regular play
• Playing this instrument, you experience the warmth of laminated mahogany back and sides—built for durability and a rich, midrange character that supports expressive playing styles.

Easy-to-Play Neck — Comfort for Long Sessions

Designed to reduce hand fatigue, the neck profile of this model appeals to those building calluses and to experienced players seeking comfort. A mahogany neck pairs with a walnut fingerboard and rolled edges, letting your hand move effortlessly along the frets, free from sharp fret ends.

• Neck Material: Mahogany — stable feel with warm tonal backbone
• Neck Shape: Fender "Easy-to-Play" with rolled fingerboard edges — comfortable for chord work and lead lines
• Scale Length: 643 mm — standard dreadnought tension for full-volume strumming

Reliable Hardware — Stage-Ready Out of the Box

All hardware is selected for reliability. Chrome die-cast tuners deliver accurate, stable tuning, and the walnut bridge anchors the strings for maximum resonance. From the factory, Fender Dura-Tone 880L coated 80/20 strings (.012-.052) are installed for a balance of playability and robust tone.

• Tuning Machines: Chrome Die-Cast — stable tuning across temperature and humidity changes
• Coated strings (Fender Dura-Tone 880L 80/20, .012-.052) minimize finger squeak and extend tone life, so you're ready for long practice or performance sessions out of the box.
• Fingerboard Radius: 305 mm — flat enough for easy barre chords and bending

Who This Model Is Built For

CD-60S is a strong choice for beginner and intermediate players who seek a solid-top dreadnought with classic Fender playability at an accessible price. The "Easy-to-Play" neck shape and rolled fingerboard edges are especially helpful for quick chord changes. Singer-songwriters benefit from the instrument's volume and projection when accompanying vocals without amplification. Those upgrading from laminate-top acoustics will appreciate the tonal improvement and aging benefits of a solid spruce top.

Fender Classic Design Series — Acoustic Guitars for Every Player

This model belongs to Fender's Classic Design series—an acoustic guitar range designed to bring the brand's decades of luthiery to entry-level and mid-tier instruments. The "S" in the model name marks its solid spruce top and quartersawn scalloped "X"-bracing, two features that elevate its tone toward that of high-end flat-tops. The instrument remains one of Fender's most popular acoustic offerings.
